Beth is a native North Carolinian who has called Raleigh home for almost 35 years. She got her real estate license in 2012 after a career in the travel industry, and hasn’t looked back! She enjoys gardening, college basketball, sampling local craft beers, and listening to live music with her best friend and husband, Tony. She loves assisting Lori with her clients, and helping friends and family find their dream homes. Beth’s dream home exists somewhere on the water in coastal NC!
What year did you start in the industry/profession? I received my NC real estate broker's license in 2012, and began my career that same year with another local firm.
What is your favorite area restaurant? There are so many great restaurants in this area that it's hard to pick a favorite! For a special occasion, you can't beat the Angus Barn. But 2 of my "go-to" restaurants for delicious dining are Bloomsbury Bistro (Five Points in Raleigh), and Plates Neighborhood Kitchen (downtown Raleigh).
What is your favorite public park? Dorothea Dix Park. I used to deliver airline tickets to clients' offices there, and the views of downtown Raleigh are amazing! I'm excited to see what unfolds there as Raleigh creates an great urban park from this richly historic area.
What is your favorite vacation spot? Any old oceanfront cottage with a porch and a rocking chair!
Do you prefer the beach or the mountains? Beach! Brunswick County beaches in particular.
Which local non-profit organizations do you support? The Green Chair Project, The Food Bank of Central/Eastern NC, Urban Ministries Food Pantry
Do you prefer salty or sweet snacks? Salty - potato chips are my downfall!
What is your favorite book? Whatever I'm currently reading!
What is your favorite movie? The movie is never as good as the book! But I'm partial to the old black and white films of the '40's, and every realtor should watch "Mr Blandings Builds His Dream House", with Cary Grant and Myrna Loy!
Are you a dog- or a cat-person? Cats! Lots of'em! I'll be that proverbial crazy cat lady one day.
What is on your bucket list this year? FloydFest 2021
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go? First I'd travel to every state on the continental US, just to see the sights and explore the backroads of our nation. Then I'd probably go to Italy and soak up some ancient culture - and delicious local wines!
How do you eat an Oreo cookie? Separated of course!
Why do you love living here? Raleigh and the Triangle area is such a vibrant, diverse, and growing location – and it’s right in the center of this beautiful state, so it’s not too far from anywhere! I love the restaurants, the world-class universities (and their rivalries!), the local sports teams, the beautiful lakes and parks, the awesome museums and local artists, the music venues, the white-hot economy, and being in the seat of the state government. As a native North Carolinian, I wouldn’t pick anywhere else in this state to live!
What is your secret/hidden getaway? If I told you, it wouldn't be secret anymore.
Do you eat Eastern- or Western-style barbecue? Eastern NC - love that vinegary tang with some good, smoky, pit-cooked whole hog barbecue!
Beth was a joy to work with. She was extremely attentive and always had your best interest at heart. She never let us give up that we would find the right house, and she was right ! She was very knowledgeable about the process, and I would definitely recommend Beth to anyone. Thanks Beth, for making our selling and buying a home an easy experience!
